The Upper Manhattan Council Assisting Neighbors (UCAN) is a non-profit community development organization, founded in 1998.  UCAN's mission is to enhance the local community and build the capacity of Northern Manhattan neighbors, small businesses, and community-based organizations.

UCAN targets the underserved Latino, immigrant, and low-income communities of Washington Heights, Inwood, and Marble Hill.  By delivering comprehensive services, UCAN responds to community needs and achieves its objectives of enhancing and empowering our community.

UCAN's program areas include:

  * Community and Economic Development
  * Education
  * Housing
  * Arts and Culture

Our free services are possible due to public grants, private donations, dedicated volunteers, and community participation by supporters like you.  By becoming a part of our network on-line, you can participate in our community forum, RSVP for upcoming events, and provide support to our important programs.
